Pay to Play - Xcel energy proposes solar customer surcharge

The Denver News recently reported that Xcel energy is seeking PUC approval for a new monthly fee for customers connecting their solar panels to the electric grid.

According to a report by Clean Skies News, the monthly fee proposed by Xcel would be 2.6 cents per kilowatt-hour and is in addition to a $7-8 monthly meter reading charge that all customers currently pay.
